Altcinema is currently seeking films and videos for
distribution. We are interested in films of all genres,
styles, and lengths.
In 2006, Altcinema launched its distribution service
in order to showcase high quality work by women/queer/transgender
artists, including first-time filmmakers. Whether you
are a festival veteran or newcomer, we will tailor our
services to best promote your film and provide you with
a return on the great expenses it takes to complete
a project.
Altcinema distributes short and feature length films
for festival and commercial release. We do consider
films that have not yet screened at any festivals and
are particularly interested in experimental/non-Hollywood
style films as well as films that are suitable for college/educational
environments. However, all genres, styles, and formats
are welcomed if you believe your work fits with our
mission.
There is no charge to you for distribution of your
film. Altcinema will cover all costs for distribution
of your film to festivals and for DVD sales (if applicable).
Once profits generated for your film, you will receive
50% and Altcinema retains 50%. We make royalty payments
to artists twice a year, in June and December, and at
that time we will also provide you with reports on where
your film(s) have screened and all accounting transactions.
